John J. Frezza President John J. Frezza has been actively engaged in the building and construction industry for the past thirty years. Mr. Frezza has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Cooper Union, New York City, a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from Polytechnic Institute of New York and Post-Graduate Studies in Real Estate Development from New York University. He is one of the founding members of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAFAH), a trade association for private sector organizations involved in affordable housing. He is also sits on the Board of Directors for BPD Bank, which includes sitting on the Bank’s Credit and Compliance committee. An active member in local organizations, such as the Columbus Citizens Foundation, The Economic Club of New York and The Heritage Foundation, Mr. Frezza has a unique sense and keen insight into the needs of our growing city. Mr. Frezza has twice received NYSAFAH’s “Project of the Year” award: (1) in 2005 for the construction of a 138 unit rental building on the corner West 117th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard and, (2) in 2003 for the rehabilitation of seven vacant buildings on West 144th Street into 110 apartments. The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce has also honored Mr. Frezza with the Building Brooklyn Award (2001) and Education Award (2002) for his conversion of the oldest existing armory in New York City into an affordable housing development and charter school (Clermont Armory) and for building a private school for Good Shepherds Services, and again, in 2008, with the Large Scale Affordable Housing Project Award for building State Renaissance Court. Mr. Frezza’s experience includes being a field construction engineer with Ebasco Services and a project manager for Galbreath-Ruffin Corporation. Mr. Frezza has been engaged in various entrepreneurial pursuits in the development and construction industries, culminating with the founding of Strategic Development and Construction Group in 1985. Kenneth G. Saperstein Chief Financial Officer, Director of Operations Mr. Saperstein has been involved in the field of residential and commercial development for the past 23 years. Mr. Saperstein has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from SUNY at New Paltz, and has worked in both the private and government real estate sectors. Mr. Saperstein is involved in the planning and implementation of development projects, including market rate and affordable housing as well as commercial revitalization. His extensive accounting background supports financial reporting requirements to our banks and affordable housing agencies. In addition to our financial operations, Mr. Saperstein oversees our construction operations to ensure proper project tracking and scheduled completion timelines. Amandine Y. Di Santo Director of Business Development, Marketing & Sales Amandine Di Santo joined Strategic Development and Construction Group in 2006, and has both an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business Management from Pace University in New York City, graduating magna cum laud. Ms. Di Santo is also a member of the International Honor Society of Beta Gamma Sigma. A native of France, Ms. Di Santo spent 6 years with a French-based Construction Company, managing the Marketing and Financial Reporting. Prior to joining SDCG, Ms. Di Santo worked with another New York based, AFH developer, as assistant to the Vice-President of Real Estate Development. With more than 15 years of experience in Construction and Real Estate Development, Ms. Di Santo brings with her the expertise to collaborate with attorneys, architects, engineers and local real estate marketing companies.
She also works closely with city and state agencies that run the AFH financing programs. Ms. Di Santo develops the feasibility and budget analysis for every project from start to finish. Ms. Di Santo’s broad knowledge of the Real Estate Market, construction, and city and state affordable housing financing programs has proven to be key elements of our continued success. Her experience in preparing RFPs for submission is critical and has proven to be invaluable.
Also responsible for Sales and Marketing, Ms. Di Santo overseas and manages the production of marketing materials, is involved in the design process of new developments, and offering plan preparation. Ms. Di Santo business acumen lends to the continued professional image of SDCG. Mary Anderson Office Manager and Assistant to the CEO/President Mary Anderson is a seasoned and experienced Office Manager and Administrator with more than 30 years of experience in office management and administration, sales and marketing, IT and Customer Support, as well as accounting and project management. Ms. Anderson joined Strategic Development and Construction in January of 2011, after relocating from Oregon. Her education in Business Administration and Organizational Communication, as well as her experience in accounting, marketing and customer service give us a level of administrative support that is well rounded and crucial in the ever changing and fast paced environment we work. A successful entrepreneur, Ms. Anderson understands the dynamics of both management and support, and when to apply that knowledge. Having successfully owned and managed her own Accounting and Administrative Consulting Business for 5 years, a great deal of her time was spent working with one client, a developer, managing his various LLC’s and projects. Ms. Anderson successfully integrated her unique skills and education to manage the day to day operations and accounting for 17 companies, all involved in the development of single and multi-family housing.
Ms. Anderson also brings with her, a much needed background and knowledge of the ever changing IT world, and has successfully implemented new processes and procedures that have brought a level of technological flow to the company that increase productivity and the flow of communication, a critical element in any business.
Having lived all over the country and overseas, she brings a great deal of enthusiasm, diversity and creativity to our team. Her team attitude, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and excellent communication skills are valuable attributes that are critical in our growing company. Ms. Anderson also is the key support to our CEO and President, Mr. Frezza. Steven F. Levine Construction Consultant Steven F. Levine brings thirty years of building and construction experience to our organization, most recently serving as Vice President and General Superintendent for Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC). In this position, Mr. Levine reported to the President and was responsible for overseeing the construction of numerous projects including Atlantic Terminal, Metro-Tech Center, Queens Place, and Harlem Center. Prior to joining FCRC, Mr. Levine served as General Superintendent for KLM Construction, AJ Contracting, HRH Construction and The Glick Organization. Mr. Levine has worked on a diversity of projects such as the construction of Old Navy's flagship store on 34th Street, the core and shell renovation of Christie's Auction House in Rockefeller Center and a $200 million renovation and addition to Madison Square Garden's Paramount Theater. Mr. Levine has a business degree from SUNY at Farmingdale, Long Island and attended Pratt Institute's School of Architecture. Judy Stanton Internal Accountant As Internal Accountant for Strategic Construction Corporation, Judith M. Stanton supports the construction job cost accounting function for all active projects. In addition, Ms. Stanton is involved in the preparation of monthly financial statements for all active projects. Ms. Stanton is a Certified Public Accountant and a Systems and Management Consultant, specializing in CCI construction-related accounting software. She has more than 20 years of accounting experience as an independent Systems and Management Consultant; a Senior Auditor for J. Haskins & Associates, CPAs, Chicago; a software consultant and staff accountant for McDonald Doherty & Company, CPAs, PC; CFO for Mr. Build Home Improvements, and financial analyst and accounting manager for the National Sales Group of Motorola, Inc. Ms. Stanton holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Accounting from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois.
